On Monday, June 12, LCD Soundsystem announced a residency at Brooklyn Steel. Upon announcing the shows, James Murphy acknowledged that tickets for their previous residency, which took place this past April, “sold out quickly.” In a new post today, Murphy writes that all of the tickets have sold out once again, and in an effort to combat fake ticket sellers, he advises, “JUST DON’T BUY ANY TICKETS ONLINE!!!” Murphy writes that he is “scrambling to find a way to deal with some safe and controlled face-value exchange.” The note closes, “PS. seriously. DON’T BUY EXPENSIVE TICKETS! so incredibly not our last show. we’ll be right back.” Read it in full below.

Murphy has also been engaging in conversations with fans in the comments on the Facebook post, further explaining the situation. At one point, a fan wrote "LCD is the new Billy Joel in NYC." To which Murphy responded, "Ouch. It's getting more appropriate every year. We DID, however, start the fire, unfortunately."

LCD’s first show of the new residency takes place tomorrow night, Friday, June 16. It’s one of seven shows at Brooklyn Steel this month. Find the rest of their tour dates here.

LCD Soundsystem are playing at this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival in July. Find tickets to their Friday headlining performance here.
